players in toronto

today, i went to st. mike's avec the madre to pick up some uniform clothes for my bro and i was told that there were NHL players practicing in the arena. immediately, i ran (i'm not even kidding when i say that) into the arena and watched them train. i recognized Alexi Ponikarovsky right off the bat: for one thing he was wearing Penguins pants, and for another i just recognized his face. there was a player from the Coyotes who i didn't know, and i saw who I thought was Gionta (i can't remember what number the player was wearing) and the ever-so-sexy Mike Cammalleri. you all must be thinking "uhhhh HELLO JOSIE! He kicked your Penguins ass in the playoffs plus he's a CANADIEN!!". that might be true, but his sexiness overrules all of that (PLUS IT HELPS THAT HE'S CANADIAN AND HALF ITALIAN (sicilian to be exact)!!)

i love his celebration: he makes a fist pump and puts on a certain expression *melts*
the only problem is he's kind of...short. well, at least compared to a lot of players in the NHL. i guess he makes up for it in another department? maybe he has a big "HEART"! ;)
i'm going to just stop, mainly because he's one of the players in my "30 players in 30 days" posts and I don't want to ruin it for all of you.

seeing these players got me hyped up for the season!!! ahhhh!!!

sexiest door

i've been really busy lately, but here's something to look at while you're waiting for a decent post that's more than a sentence.
here is the sexiest door alive (a.k.a the door in my room that leads to my bathroom!)
there is a huge picture of Sidney (well, duh), three photos of Sidney from team Canada a Patrick Kane corner, and some photos of the players from team Canada!

requested post

my friend wanted me to write a new post (and she will deny this but that is what she implied to me earlier).

to be honest i've been busy getting ready for university, writing the 30 players in 30 days posts, and trying to finish 3 archie comics before school starts. yes, i'm 18 and i still read archie comics (but can you blame me?!)
so since the friend who asked me to write a post is really into fashion, i suppose this post will be about the fashionable stuff I purchased recently:

I bought these two things by DVF (Diane Von Furstenburg). I never really use to like her stuff because it was too funky for my tastes (I dress VERY girly and romantically). But recently I've been looking at her stuff more and more now and I LOVE what I bought!

Not really a colour i'd wear, but the style is super cute on me!

I wear mine with a brown belt or else it looks like a tent on me

I am a HUGE fan of Kate Spade because it's very girly! The store is full of bright colours, floral patterns, frills, everything a girl like me could want!

AHH! I love the pattern and the red jewel (?)

I LOVE Jcrew. Remember that post about those shoes with the strap on them? Yeah, I had to "settle" (I actually loled when I wrote this) for these beauties
HOT! Perfect to wear to class (because of the wedge). Even better to wear to the club!

I discovered a new store called Cotelac (accent aigu on the e) that sells clothes that are very french looking (so, obviously, I fell in love)

Look at the pattern on the skirt! Those are mushrooms!!!
I always HATED Juicy. Not only was it worn by all those rich skinny bitches, but the whole towel looking sweatsuit was a total turnoff- until I went into the Juicy store. I didn't know Juicy sold REAL clothes!
*note: I really hate putting photos in my posts because they do not cooperate with me (stupid bastards). if anyone knows how to put them in their place, PLEASE HELP!!!!!! this photo above is supposed to have a really funny caption!*

so as you can tell, I'm REALLY into ponchos and capes. they kind of have the superhero thing going on (and in my case, a sexy fashionable superhero)
this post has made me realize I am NOT permitted to go shopping for another, i dunno, 30 years.
Ugh.

video (on trial?)

*****SPOILER ALERT: if you have not watched the video for "Teenage Dream" do not read this post*****

Katy Perry's new video came out either yesterday or a few days ago, and I have to say after watching it 328932 times, I finally realize that I like it.
i know everyone here LOVED the video for "California Gurls" (she says in a sarcastic tone). tbh i'm not really one for videos like that, at least after the whole Blink-182 phase, but I suppose she was just showing off her fun and wild personality. for those of you who have not seen it, 1/4 of the time she's in Candy Land, 1/4 of the time she's naked, and 1/4 she's dancing in a bikini top that looks like cupcakes, and 1/4 of the time she's shooting whipped cream out of her-let's just stay PG and called them goodies.

in "Teenage Dream" she just drives around in a car with her boo, dances with her boo, watches her boo punch a punching bag (shirtless, if I may add), and has sex with her boo in a motel room (classy, i know). Might I add that the actor who plays her boo in the video is MUCH MUCH sexier than Russel Brand. I'm sure if someone told him that he'd probably say something along the lines of "at least i'm actually screwing her" or something.

now, after watching "Teenage Dream" I was just a bit confused. I don't know how to explain my confusion without sounding like a complete moron, but it reminded me of the time she released the video for the meaningful "Thinking of You" after the controversial "I kissed a girl". I suppose variety is good, but for me it just makes my head hurt.

here's the youtube link (because i have no idea how to put videos in my posts) it's cute, enjoy!

vampires, werewolves, shifters, oh my!

The movie Twilight turned me off anything involving vampires. I mean, although Robert Pattinson is VERY yummy, the vampires weren't portrayed as badass, at least that's what I thought. Plus I can't stand Kristen Stewart. C'mon woman, get rid of that depressed, druggie looking face and start smiling once in a while. Newsflash: when the director says "and scene", it means the camera has STOPPED rolling. I can't act and even I know that.
going off on a tangent.
In university a lot of students start to watch tv on their computer. I've watched the entire season of 8 Simple Rules, That 70s Show, The O.C, Ugly Betty, and House (and f.y.i my school marks were NOT affected, thank God). So in March my friend told me to start watching a show called True Blood. As soon as he told me it was about vampires, I refused to try it out.
HOWEVER
when I went away a week ago, the only shows the plane had that I was interested in was True Blood, so I decided to give it a chance. I fell in love after just watching ten minutes (and most shows are about 50 minutes long!). The show is truly badass, from the bloodsucking vampires and vulgar characters to even to the very erotic sex scenes (yes folks, this show is definitely rated 18A). It has a sexy, dark, and enigmous vibe to it that just makes you wonder what evil thing could happen next. Oh, and did I mention that almost every guy in the show is sexy? There's Bill Compton: the mysterious vampire who Sookie Stackhouse (the main character) falls in love with, Sam Merlotte: the owner of the restaurant Sookie waitresses, Jason Stackhouse: Sookie's brother, and my absolute favourite, vampire Eric Northman: The Sheriff of Louisiana. The gory scenes are what attracted me to the show but these men are what kept me watching (and of course, drooling).

Eric Northman: This vampire puts both Edward and Jacob to Shame
Now onto the women
Anna Paquin (canadian!) plays Sookie Stackhouse. Now, as much as I do love my canadians, there's something about Anna Paquin that just bugs me (and no, its not that gap in her teeth that when you meet her you accidentally blurt out "what gap?" when she asks you what time it is). If anyone finds out what's wrong with her, please let me know.
Tara (can't remember character's last name) is played by some actress whose name I honest to god can't remember. She's pretty cool in the first season but gets annoying...Yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say about her

My favourite character though has to be Lafayette, the gay black character who is the head chef at Merlottes. I don't know what I love about him more: the fact that he calls everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) a hooker or the fact that he does his makeup better than I do. For a gay guy, he's pretty hardcore.

so for those of you who have given up on vampires, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just try to watch the first episode of season 1 of True Blood. I guarentee after those 50 minutes, you'll be begging for someone to suck your blood.

!!!!!

OhMyGod

I am very excited today (well i have been for the past week) because...

1. The LOVE OF MY LIFE was in Toronto (yes, everyone, Sidney Crosby) at the Rogers Cup both celebrating his birthday with Rafael Nadal and watching the match. Unfortunately I was unable to get tickets therefore I couldn't get any close up photos. I think the moment I found out my heart skipped a beat/I squealed like a pig. nbd

Om nom nom: Three delicious things all in one photo

2. Someone (a woman named Julie, specifically) read my blog without me asking! I usually bother my friends to check it out once in a while. Not that i'm trying to get big or anything, but I'd like for at least 2 or 3 people who I don't know to read it. I'm hoping to get some more readers when I write my "30 players in 30 days" post. I wonder if the HFTL blogger will advertise it for me?

3. I go back to Queen's University soon! (i'm a loser, I know) I miss my friends and the atmosphere. I DO NOT miss all the work I'm going to have to do.

I plan to major in psychology and minor in Italian (if that isn't well rounded enough for you, ivy leagues, then I don't know WHAT is) which means a lot of essays. woo?

It has been a good week. I hope yours has too! If not, just try to look forward to the "30 players in 30 days" post!

Thanks again, Julie :)

what a girl wants (but not what she needs)

i went to buy some knobs at anthropologie and walked by a store called Davids (it has a bunch of designer purses and shoes).
i saw these BEAUTIFUL Christian Louboutin shoes that i REALLY REALLY WANT!!

yeah as much as i love these, $895 is a lot of money for a pair of shoes.
so instead of bugging my parents about these, i am settling (bad word to use, but it's the only one i could think of), for these $228 beauties:

i don't know if i like the dusty cedar (below) or the rose dust (right) ones. hrm

yes, i love shoes.

glorious day!

today folks, is one of the most important day of the year, (well at least for the NHL association's popularity and the Pittsburgh Penguins franchise) for today marks the birthday of a man (or should i say "kid") who is the youngest captain to win the Stanley cup. a man who scored the goal that won Canada a gold medal. a man who is perfect in every way (yes, that INCLUDES looks). this man is the best hockey player in the NHL (at least present day. we can't forget Gretzky and Lemieux). ladies and gentlemen, today is Sidney Crosby's 23rd Birthday. I hope by the time I'm his age I have accomplished half as much as he has. (but by the looks of me now, I probably won't!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SID!!
keep on looking great both on and off the ice!
much love,
Josie
